文部科学省「AI for Science萌芽的挑戦研究創出事業（SPReAD）」（旧称 チャレンジ型）について、令和8年4月17日から公募が開始される予定となりますのでお知らせします。
応募に関する詳細は、４月17日の公募要項等の公表後、改めてお知らせします。
【公募期間】第1回：令和8年4月17日（金）～5月18日（月）正午
第2回：令和8年6月上旬を予定
【補助上限】1課題あたり500万円以下（直接経費。別途、間接経費30%を配分予定。）
※2回の公募を通じて計1,000件程度採択予定。
【研究期間】第1回：交付決定日から令和9年1月6日（水）まで
第2回：未定
【対象】人文学、社会科学から自然科学までのあらゆる分野の研究者等を対象として、
本事業の趣旨に合致する研究課題のうち、研究代表者個人で行う研究計画
※公募開始に合わせて、文科省による説明会が開催される予定です。

日時：令和8年4月20日（月曜日）16時30分～18時00分
対象者：本事業への応募を検討している研究者・学生等
※開催時間の3時間前まで申し込み可能

【計算資源提供者による説明会】
日時：計3回実施予定
・令和8年4月27日（月曜日）15時00分～17時00分
・令和8年4月28日（火曜日）16時00分～18時00分
・令和8年4月30日（木曜日）13時00分～15時00分
対象者：本事業への応募を検討している研究者・学生等（事務方の参加も可）

(direct costs; an additional 30% for indirect costs is planned to be allocated.)
*Approximately 1,000 projects are expected to be selected through two rounds of calls for proposals.

January 6, 2027
Round 2: To be determined
[Eligibility] This program is open to researchers and others in all fields, ranging from the humanities and social sciences to the natural sciences, for research proposals that align with the program’s objectives and are to be conducted by the principal investigator individually.
*An information session organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is scheduled to be held in conjunction with the start of the call for applications.
